Run Menu / Disable UAC

Return of the Run Menu

If you are a power user, it is quite likely that you miss the ?Run? menu from every previous version of Windows. Although most people won?t miss this is very handy to quickly run applications without loading up items on your start menu.

Right Click on the Start Menu > Properties > Start Menu Tab > Customise > Check ?Run Command?

Alternatively, you can use the shortcut key of Windows Key + R each time you need it.

Disable UAC

There?s a good chance that you already have UAC disabled if you are using Vista, as although it protects innocent users from harm, it can be a real pain when constantly having to jump through hoops for a simple task. Only disable UAC if you know what you are doing, otherwise you may be opening your PC up for trouble!

The easiest way to disable it is to run ?msconfig?, click the tools tab and then run the ?Disable UAC ? script:
